ink experiments

I started this experiment by pencil drawing images of a dinosaur, examples of flames and a building that had been damaged. Once I was happy with the way the pencil drawings looked I moved onto going over the lines with black ink, not only does this alter the way they looked it would also make scanning them much easier.
I scanned the pages onto the computer and opened them in Adobe Illustrator. Within this program I used the pen tool to loosely trace the outline shapes in order to add colour to each, this program also allowed me to add extra colour details like the various colours I added to the Dinosaur drawing (browns and different shades of green), and the inner colours of the flames (orange and yellow).

I am happy with how this experiment turned out I especially  like the colours  because I choose bright colours that would either stand out or highlight particular areas of the drawings. I also think that the ink out line is effective because the rough, sketchy, slightly grungy look fits nicely with the 'destructive' look I want for the cover.
